Weekly Update 1/21

Dear Members and Friends of JASH,

We extend a big MAHALO to everyone who supported JASH through the recent Aloha for Hawaii Charities fundraising campaign by the Friends of Hawaii Charities and the 2021 Sony Open in Hawaii. It is thanks to your generosity and support that we continue to stay on course and produce new and exciting programs for all our members despite these recent difficult times.

Speaking of staying on course, did you catch JASH in the most recent issue of The Hawaiʻi Herald? Staff Writer Ida Yoshinaga interviewed JASH President Reyna Kaneko, sharing with the Hawaii Japanese American community an overview of JASH’s experiences pivoting in the wake of the global pandemic, and how we’ve rebooted and added to our lineup of activities and programs. “[JASH] did a quick turn to re-engage its student and community members, deftly transforming face-to-face activities into online and streaming ones,” writes the Herald, and “the constant emphasis on program quality is what sees the organization through the hard work.”
