Dear Members and Friends of JASH, Have you ever done hanami flower-viewing in Japan? Sakura trees from Kyushu through the Tokyo area are now in full bloom. Here in the States as well, Washington D.C.'s iconic cherry blossom trees reached their peak last week, and the Japan-America Society of Washington DC is excitedly preparing for their 60th Sakura Matsuri. Oahu's trees budded back in February, with folks taking drives through Wahiawa to enjoy the blooms. While the warming weather brings beautiful bouquets of flowers, we also take this time to refresh our bodies and minds. As we come to the end of March and Women's History Month, we think back to our "Women Who Lead" virtual talk-story series, which we launched in the beginning of the pandemic two years ago. Mahalo to the inspiring women leaders who shared their stories with us throughout this series, including Bella Hughes, Amanda Corby-Noguchi, Cristina Moon, Phyllis Look, the 68th Cherry Blossom Festival Court, and Tanna Dang. Hear all about their stories in our "Women Who Lead" YouTube Playlist by clicking below.
