Upcoming Events

THIS SATURDAY, join us for our second workshop with the ʻAkahiao Nature Institute’s (ANI), Edible World: Nature that Nurtures Us on Saturday, November 13 at 10AM (HST). Everyone is welcome!

Part II of the Edible World Series will focus on how nature nurtures our well-being mentally, physically, and spiritually. Come along as the team from ANI guide you through one of Huʻehuʻeʻs most prominent features, ʻAkahipuʻu. The puʻu serves as an outdoor classroom for the groups we host and many free form discussions have taken place in this space, as being in nature is mentally uplifting and has many health benefits. Then, we will tap into lāʻau lapaʻau or medicinal herbs and plants that the garden provides, followed by a hands-on lei workshop that feeds and nourishes the soul.

To learn more about ANI, watch chaperone Yuuki Inagawa’s vlog of our Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention Junior Ambassador’s summer sustainability camp by clicking here, or visit ANI’s website here. Their team is passionate about connecting people of all ages back to the 'āina, and they host a number of programs at Huʻehuʻe Ranch in Kona throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you and your keiki at this interactive family-friendly workshop!
